The STROBE Statement has been published in the April 2008 issue of the Journal of Clinical Epidemiology, the January 2008 issue of the International Journal of Public Health and the Oct-Dec 2007 issue of the Infectious Diseases Journal of Pakistan. All three publications are accompanied by editorials. In addition, the International Journal of Public Health devotes a "Speaker's Corner" section to STROBE with two invited commentaries by Alfredo Morabia and Louise Potvin.

Two recently published commentaries highlight the implications of the STROBE recommendations for dental public health research (PMID: 18246835) and for veterinary research (PMID: 18083665).
22/02/2008:
The STROBE Initiative has received the 1st David-Sackett-Award by the German Network for Evidence-based Medicine, a German non-profit professional organisation for the advancement of public health care. The prize is awarded each year for “outstanding and sustainable work in the field of evidence-based medicine and health care”. Today's ceremony took place at the annual meeting of the network at the University of Witten-Herdecke / Germany. Click here for press release (in German).

The November issue of Epi Monitor, a monthly epidemiology newsletter, includes an interview with the STROBE developers as lead article. Download pdf here.
05/11/2007:
The STROBE introductory article was published in the November issues of Preventive Medicine and of the Bulletin of the World Health Organization. The latter article also includes translations of the abstract into French, Spanish and Arabic.

The STROBE Statement has been selected for the "Faculty of 1000 Medicine". See link
15/10/2007:
The publication of the STROBE Statement in several medical journals starts this week. A comprehensive Explanation and Elaboration document will be published by PLoS Medicine, EPIDEMIOLOGY and Annals of Internal Medicine alongside the article introducing the 22-item STROBE checklist. The journals have granted free access to both articles. Click here for a full list of already available articles, as well as related commentaries and editorials.
01/06/2007:
Publication of the STROBE Statement is now anticipated for this fall. The shorter paper including the final version of the STROBE checklist will be submitted for simultaneous publication in several medical journals in the next few weeks. The larger explanatory paper is currently being prepared for publication and will be published in print and electronically in one journal. We aim for open access to both articles.
16/10/2006:
A comprehensive document has been drafted which aims to explain the STROBE checklist item by item and to provide examples of good reporting. The draft paper is currently being reviewed in the enlarged STROBE group and will be prepared for publication soon thereafter. 30/06/2006:
The contribution of reporting guidelines such as STROBE to reduce selective reporting of outcomes in epidemiology has been discussed at a symposium organised by the Netherlands Epidemiological Society at the EEF European Congress of Epidemiology 2006 held in Utrecht / NL.
18/02/2006:
1) The coordinating group has held several two-day work meetings in Bristol, London, and Berne/CH and is currently preparing the publication of two articles: one with a presentation of the STROBE checklist and another with comprehensive explanations.
2) Two epidemiology journals recommend the use of the STROBE checklist in their Instructions for Authors: Epidemiology and the Bulletin of the World Health Organization. The International Committee of Medical Journal Editors lists STROBE as a ressource in its "Uniform Requirements for Manuscripts Submitted to Biomedical Journals".
25/10/2005:
1) The revised version 3 of the STROBE checklist is now available on this website.
2) Reporting guidelines for quality improvement evidence have been published:

STROBE will be presented as a poster at the XIII Cochrane Colloquium in Melbourne/Australia on 22-26 October
2005.
